Iliana Diaz Lopez is an argentinian  designer  based in London, UK founder and creative director at thefactorysound.com.

 

She has more than fiftheen years of experience in the Music & Creative Industries working as a classical singer, vocal coach, music leader, sound designer, composer, audio engineer (specialising in audio editing, restoration &,mastering), project designer and  producer.

 

She is an Audio and Recording Engineer, BA Audiovisuals (UNLa), Classical Singer Performer (UNSJ). She has specializations in sound design for installations,  PG Sound Design, Master in Sound Art, Barcelona University and video games, Dip. Video Games Narratives, Buenos Aires University.

Among her most notable awards as a designer and creative entrepreneur,  stand out: 'Cosmovisional Sound Stories' awarded by the British Arts Council in 2018, a social impact project and as 'Emerging Artist in Sound' by the Embriorario Residency, Ministry of Culture, Argentina, 2017. ​

 

In 2024 was selected by the steering committee of the London Design Biennale to represent Argentina in 2025 with 'Sur Andina' project by Madre Tierra Designers.

Iliana has worked as a music leader and vocal coach in projects for the Ministry of Education & Culture in Argentina -  Youth Choir and Orchestras (2009 - 2018) , as a classical singer in the National Choir for the Bicentennial, Compania de Voces, Nuevo Coro Tango and The Rolling Stone  (GCC  national choir) - Tour Ole, La Plata Stadium (2016).  As a sound designer and audio restoration engineer at the 'Center of Latin American Studies and Art La Abadia' Bs As (2015 -2017),  as a producer & coordinator in the Teatro del Globo (2013), Angel Studios, Abbey Road Family, UMG (2022), as an audio  engineer at  Side Global PTW with credits on Amazon, Sony, Ubisoft, Blizzard, Bandai AAA video games (2023)(credits).

 

She has been working in the Creative Industry  for ten years in various sound and musical projects. Developing a realistic and dimensional sound design technique based on conceptual art and immersive sound, focusing her main practice on ancestral - indigenous cultures and the symbolic world represented in their traditional oral stories. Through the project 'Cosmovisional Sound Stories' (since 2015) she designs a variety of sound productions in the format: performance, immersive experiences and art installation that aim to promote interculturality, identity and human values, preserving and safeguarding intangible and natural heritage, making visible the legacy behind the stories.
