Iliana Diaz Lopez is an Argentinian conceptual sound artist and immersive experience designer based in London, UK. Founder and creative director of thefactorysound.com, an Art and Design Lab inspired by culture and nature. 

With over decades of experience in the Music and Creative Industries, Iliana has demonstrated exceptional versatility, excelling in diverse roles such as classical singer, vocal coach, music leader, sound designer, composer, and audio engineer. Her expertise spans audio editing, restoration, and mastering, foley, sound design and sound art, as well as cultural project leader and creative producer, allowing her to bring a distinctive and innovative perspective to her work.

Iliana holds a degree in Audiovisual Production, Specialising in Sound and Recording, from the National University of Lanús (UNLa) and a diploma as a Classical Singer Performer from the National University of San Juan (UNSJ). She has further refined her skills through postgraduate studies in sound design, Postgrduate in Sound Design, Master’s in Sound Art from Barcelona University. Her academic portfolio also includes a Diploma in Video Game Narratives from Buenos Aires University, underscoring her ability to navigate the intersection of traditional and contemporary media.

Her creative work has earned international recognition for its unique blend of sound, narratives, and cultural heritage. In 2018, her signature project Cosmovisional Sound Stories® was awarded by the British Arts Council as a social impact initiative under the London Landing Project for creative entrepreneurs. She was previously distinguished as an Emerging Artist in Sound Design by the Embriorario Residency, part of the Escena Pública programme led by Argentina’s Ministry of Culture (2017). In 2024, she was selected to join the Awasi Artist Immersion in Iguazú, a residency that brings together artists, communities and nature in dialogue. Most recently, she represented Argentina as an exhibiting sound artist-designer at the London Design Biennale 2025, showcasing her immersive proposal at the  Sur Andina, Argentina Pavilion.

Iliana’s career is marked by collaborations with prestigious institutions and high-profile projects. As a music leader and vocal coach, she has contributed to initiatives led by the Ministry of Education and Culture in Argentina, working with youth choirs and orchestras. Her career as a classical singer includes performances with renowned ensembles such as the National Choir for the Bicentennial, Compañía de Voces, Nuevo Coro Tango, and "The Rolling Stones’ Tour Olé,  concerts at the Estadio Unico de la Plata, Bs As, Argentina.

Her work as a sound artist and audio engineer includes notable contributions to La Abadía, Centro de Arte y Estudios Latinoamericanos in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as part of its permanent exhibitions under the curatorship of renowned curators. Additionally, she has served as a producer - coordinator for esteemed organizations such as Teatro del Globo and Angel Recording Studios, collaborating with Abbey Road Studios, Abbey Road Institute, and Universal Music Group (UMG) events. Her role as an audio engineer with Side Global PTW includes credits on AAA video game titles for industry leaders such as Amazon, Sony, Ubisoft, Blizzard, and Bandai.

Iliana is also deeply committed to the preservation of natural and cultural heritage, and her approach to immersive sound design is distinguished by a profound sensitivity to ecological and cultural narratives. Her work actively supports:  Nature & Ecologies Preservation |

Currently, she is dedicated to a diverse range of creative and musical endeavors, presenting immersive experiences, art installations, and live performances. As both an artist and researcher, she actively collaborates on intercultural projects in situ with local communities and Indigenous groups, fostering meaningful cultural exchange through artistic and academic inquiry. In addition, she offers specialized masterclasses and workshops in sound art, audio engineering, and advanced vocal techniques, sharing her expertise with emerging and established artists alike(See projects on board)
